Used in herbal medicine to help maintain a healthy immune system. Source of fungal polysaccharides with immunomodulating properties.
Cautions and warnings: Consult a health-care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen. Consult a health-care practitioner prior to use if you have an autoimmune disorder; if you are taking immunosuppressants; if you have a progressive systemic disease such as tuberculosis, leukosis, collagenosis, multiple sclerosis, AIDS and/or HIV infection; if you have a kidney disorder or diabetes; if you have blood pressure problems; or if you are taking blood thinners. Consumption of goldenseal with alcohol, other medications and/or natural health products with sedative properties is not recommended.
Contraindications: Do not use if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
